A full skit is a comfortable yet feminine garment but most individuals don't need a lot of extra fabric bunched up around the waist. By starting with just enough stitches to make a slightly gathered waist and then increasing at the beginning of each new panel, the skirt is full and flowing around the calves and ankles but does not add bulk at the waist.
Created in hand spun, custom blended yarn, the skirt has a bit of a jean fabric look for casual comfort. Suzanne also used the skirt as a opportunity to glean stitches to use from the Interweave Press Harmony guides to knitting stitches. |

The skirt is actually a very versatile garment which can be worn other than just around the waist. It can also be worn at the neck creating a very comfortable and flattering poncho and if you have the figure for it, it can also be worn as a halter dress by bringing the waist up to the bust line and tying the drawstring around behind the neck.
